Winter comes alive. In these hours our country has been hit by a strong disturbance fed by air of polar origin and driven by intense southwestern winds. The perturbed system, already active in the western Mediterranean Basin, continues to determine a phase of bad weather in the central-southern Italian regions – we read in the bulletin released by the civil protection -, with widespread and persistent rainfall in the southern Tyrrhenian peninsular areas and with sustained ventilation from from the western quadrants over most of the regions.

On the basis of the available forecasts, a warning of adverse weather conditions was issued which foresees, from the early hours of tomorrow, Sunday 28 November, “the persistence of scattered to widespread rainfall, also of a reverse or thunderstorm character, on the Tyrrhenian sectors of Campania , Basilicata and northern Calabria “.

The phenomena, according to civil protection, will be accompanied by strong showers, frequent electrical activity and local strong gusts of wind. On the basis of the expected and ongoing phenomena, a red alert on part of Calabria and Basilicata was assessed for tomorrow, November 28; orange alert on sectors of Campania, Basilicata and Calabria; yellow alert on Umbria and Lazio, on the remaining sectors of Campania, Basilicata and Calabria, and on part of Abruzzo, Molise, Sicily and Tuscany.
