Young pharmacist attacked in Rome by a no vax customer. The solidarity of the president of Fofi Mandelli and the councilor D’Amato

The professional was in her place last Wednesday, when a woman broke into the gazebo and attacked her. “That woman – she told herself – entered the gazebo and started insulting me. She screamed at me: ‘You too are a slave to the health dictatorship, Covid does not exist‘. Then the situation degenerated and he spat on me. My colleagues had to intervene and then she left. “

27 NOV – A young pharmacist from Rome, Valentina, aged 27, was a victim of no vax intolerance while working at a pharmacy in the Testaccio neighborhood. She told the Roman newspaper herself the messenger.

The pharmacist has been working in that pharmacy for three years and since November last year one of her duties is also that of making, in certain shifts, the tampons through which, among other things, you can obtain the vaccine passport for 48 hours.

The professional was in her place last Wednesday, when a woman broke into the gazebo and attacked her. “That woman – said Valentina – entered the gazebo and started insulting me. She screamed at me: ‘You too are a slave to the health dictatorship, Covid does not exist‘. Then the situation degenerated and he spat on me. My colleagues had to intervene and then she left. “

“We pharmacists – he continued – since the beginning of the pandemic, have always been at the forefront of serving everyone. We do not understand this wave of hatred”.

Solidarity with the Roman pharmacist was expressed today by the president of Fofi Andrea Mandelli and from the entire Central Committee of the Federation of Pharmacist Orders: “The solidarity of the Central Committee of the Federation goes to Valentina, the young colleague from the Testaccio district of Rome who was attacked by a No vax exponent while she was doing her job in a pharmacy. all colleagues of the National Council and my staff, “said Mandelli.

“Pharmacists are doing everything possible to respond to the requests of citizens and the needs of both the vaccination campaign and the screening of the SARS-Cov2 infection through antigenic swabs, proving their role as the first and most accessible point of reference in the territory” , continues Mandelli.

“At the same time, however, they are increasingly exposed to acts of violence in the exercise of the profession. Episodes like the one that happened to Valentina are repeated, in fact, with alarming frequency, reflecting the need for greater attention to the protection of their safety. In this sense, we thank the Councilor for Health of the Lazio Region, Alessio D’Amato, for the closeness shown to our profession and for the declared intention to strengthen the network of controls also towards pharmacies “, concludes Mandelli.

And in fact shortly before the Regional Health Councilor had also intervened who in a note, after expressing solidarity with the pharmacist “and all the pharmacies that have suffered attacks in recent months”, underlined how “the pharmacies have played and are playing a role fundamental in contrasting the pandemic with over 150 thousand reminders already administered and they are an absolutely indispensable safeguard for tracing with over 3 million swabs carried out “.

“Threatening a pharmacy – continues Councilor D’Amato – means weakening a piece of the ‘Lazio model’ of fighting the pandemic and this is unacceptable. I will be a carrier to the Prefect to strengthen the network of controls also for pharmacies and all the sensitive points of the vaccination campaign. Those who do their work in the service of others must be protected and cannot be the object of insults and aggressions “.
