Clinging under two trucks ready to board the ferry from Olbia: six migrants identified

Six migrants clinging to two fruit trucks that were leaving the port of Olbia were identified by the financial police.

Recently the provincial command of the yellow flames of Sassari has strengthened the strategic garrison in the White Island airport by intensifying monitoring and controls of people and vehicles departing and arriving. During one of these interventions, three evenings ago the military surprised the six young migrants who were trying to get on a passenger ship bound for a port on the peninsula: they were hidden between the axles of two refrigerated trucks ready to embark, regardless of the serious risk to their own safety.

All were accompanied to the headquarters of the Command where the checks on identity, origin and legal status were carried out. It was thus ascertained that the group had moved away from a reception center in southern Sardinia where they were after being traced following illegal entry into the national territory by sea on the south-western coast of the island.

The migrants were reported while no measures were taken against the truck drivers, results completely unaware of the presence of young people clinging to their vehicles.
