magnitude 3.5, also felt in Florence. Schools closed today

A shock of earthquake from magnitude 3.5 was recorded at 6:21 today Saturday 20 November in front of the Livorno coast. According to the findings of the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology, the earthquake had a hypocenter at a depth of 13 km and an epicenter 15 km from Livorno.

At the first shock, the one with the greatest intensity which occurred at 6.21, followed by two others at 6.24 and 6.25 respectively of magnitude 2.0 and 2.1.

The shock it was clearly felt by the population in a vast area that goes as far as Cecina and the province of Pisa, but at the moment no damage to people or things has been reported. Also felt in Florence.

The mayor of Livorno, Luca Salvetti, has decided to close schools of all levels. “At the moment no damage to things or people is reported – wrote Salvetti on Facebook – in any case today, as an extreme precaution, schools of all levels will be closed to assess any critical issues in the structures”.
