Bad weather, Civil protection alarm: orange alert

PALERMO – Water bomb on Termini Imerese, in the province of Palermo. A storm hit the town of Termitana causing damage in several parts of the town. Flooded streets, open manholes. Heavy rain, with hail, also hit Caccamo, in the Termitan hinterland. The district of San Giovanni li Greci, on provincial road 21, was most affected. Rain and mud blocked some motorists, rescued by carabinieri and firefighters. – The urban section of the SS 113, near the Termini railway station Imerese, where it takes the name of via Libertà is flooded and cars cannot pass. Floods are reported almost everywhere in the area downstream of the city, where serious problems had already occurred two weeks ago.

Orange weather alert

In terms of forecasts, there is an orange weather alert until midnight tomorrow in most of Sicily. The notice issued by the regional department of civil protection foresees scattered rainfall, also of a reverse or thunderstorm character, on the southern and eastern sectors, with moderate cumulative quantities. Rain from isolated to scattered, even a
reverse or temporal character, on the rest of Sicily, with low cumulative quantities.

Whirlwind in Selinunte and Bisacquino

Already today the provinces of Trapani and Palermo have come to terms with bad weather. In the morning a tornado threw the population of Selinunte into panic, in the afternoon a similar phenomenon in Bisacquino, with hail and wind: the firefighters intervened.
