Such numbers in Friuli Venezia Giulia were not seen since the beginning of the pandemic. The cluster that erupted in the region in the days following the major demonstrations against the Green pass in Trieste was: “the largest cluster in the history of the pandemic in Friuli Venezia Giulia”, thundered the governor Massimiliano Fedriga, according to whom there is no doubt about the connection with the parades: “The problem of those demonstrations – Fedriga added to the microphones of Radio Punto Zero – is not only the virus that has spread among some participants, but also the deleterious messages that have been launched: because they are No Green messages pass, but strictly No vax ». There would be the numbers to bitterly give the governor Fedriga right, given that according to the data of the Ministry of Health on the progress of the Coronavirus pandemic in Friuli Venezia Giulia, the weekly average of infections has risen to 339 new cases per day. Only yesterday there were 438, of which 75 per cent came from Trieste, the epicenter of the protests against the green certificate. But the numbers are not enough for the activists of the Julian No Green Pass Coordination, convinced that the demonstrations of the last few weeks cannot be considered the first home of the surge in infections, because they took place outdoors. The fault, they say, is to be found in: “cuts to local health and medicine and the non-resolution of basic problems such as the overcrowding of classes and transport”.
