The alarm started from Austria, but it didn’t take long for it to catch on in Spain as well. It was enough that the Minister of Defense of Vienna, Klaudia Tanner, hinted at a hypothetical risk of a “major blackout” in the country, which could then spread like wildfire in Europe, to sow panic among many Spanish citizens. To the point that, for days, butane cylinders and camping stoves, torches, lanterns and batteries have been selling like hot cakes.
