With their faces covered and armed, they attempted a shot at the bank in Rome after taking the director and employees hostage but were arrested. The carabinieri of the Eur Company and the policemen of the VI Section of the Flying Squad of Rome arrested two Romans aged 45 and 53, both already known to the police, on charges of attempted robbery in competition, receiving stolen goods, kidnapping and port illegal firearm with abraded serial number. On November 4, the two arrived on a scooter in a branch in via Pico della Mirandola, in the Montagnola district and took the director hostage and immobilized the employees with plastic bands. But through the bank’s supervisory institution, the report of robbery in progress at the Carabinieri Operations Center in Rome arrived and a mobile patrol of the Carabinieri area of the Operational Unit of the Roma Eur Company immediately intervened, blocking the 50-year-old, misrepresented with a wig, sunglasses and armed with a Beretta 380 caliber pistol with a shot in the barrel, which, hearing the sirens, was trying to escape. At the same time, the agents of the Flying Squad also arrived and blocked the other robber inside the bank and freed them hostage. The 53-year-old who was arrested was also wearing sunglasses and a hat, and was later found in possession of a toy gun without the red cap. From subsequent investigations it emerged that the motorcycle used by the two had been stolen at the end of September. (HANDLE).
