from Paola Caruso

The data for Friday 5 November. The positivity rate was 1.2% (yesterday 1.1%) with 543,414 swabs. Brusaferro: The circulation of the virus rises, but the curve is still contained. In Lombardy +840 infections with over 114 thousand tests. Admissions: +79. Intensive care: +12

I am 6.764
the new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 5,905, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.795.465
the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 51
(yesterday there were 59), for a total of 132,334 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.572.775 e 3.730 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (3,754 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 90.356, equal to +2.980 compared to yesterday (+2.089 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 543.414, or 28,785 more than yesterday when there were 514,629 (there were the three-day tests in Veneto). While the rate of positivity
1,2% (the approximation of 1.24%); yesterday it was 1.1%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

More infections in 24 hours than yesterday, above the threshold of 6 thousand. To see a similar figure, that is over 6 thousand, we have to go back to the beginning of September (see +6,157 cases on September 4th and +6735 cases on September 3rd). With the difference that then the curve was starting to slowly descend. Now, however, the trend is slowly rising and is shown by the comparison with last Friday (29 October) – the same day of the week – when they were recorded +5,335 almost with a positive rate of 1.1%: in fact today there are more new infections than that day, with a higher percentage (1.2% versus 1.1%). Just look at the graph below.

They grow up the Rt index which stands at 1.15 (it was 0.96), for the first time above the epidemic risk threshold since the end of August, and the incidence that rises to 53 cases per 100 thousand inhabitants (it was 46 per 100 thousand). All regions are at moderate risk, but the hospital system holds: 4% the employment rate of intensive care (it was 3.7% the week before) and 5.3% that of employment in the medical area (it was 4.5% ). Also this week there is a worsening trend as regards the epidemiological situation in our country – underlines in a video message the Director of Prevention of the Ministry of Health, Gianni Rezza, commenting on the monitoring data -. it is good to continue to maintain prudent behavior and above all to continue the vaccination program with both the primary course and the third dose. And Silvio Brusaferro, president of the Higher Institute of Health, specifies:Italy is part of a European framework with high virus circulation, but is still characterized by a more contained curve and this is a fact that we certainly owe to vaccination coverage.

The Lombardy has the highest number of new infected for the second consecutive day, but today it exceeds the threshold of 800: here there are +840 cases thanks to 114 thousand swabs, which is the highest number of regional tests of the day, which determine a rate of 0 , 7%, which is lower than the national one (here the bulletin). Three regions then exceed the value of 700 new infections: Veneto (+792 cases with 100 tests and rate 0.8%), Campania (+722 cases with 3.1% rate) e Lazio (+716 cases with a rate of 1.8%, here the bulletin). Friuli Venezia Giulia is worth noting, which reports more than 400 cases for the second consecutive day and double the deaths (6) compared to Thursday. The lowest numbers are those of Molise and Valle d’Aosta, the two regions report respectively +4 cases (with 411 analyzes) and +8 cases (with 1,919 tests).

The victims

The death toll is stable: 51, eight less than yesterday. In the saddest count 12 past deaths were included: six from Sicily, three from Campania and three from Lazio. Nine regions / provinces have zero bereavement: these are Liguria, Abruzzo, Calabria, Sardinia, Basilicata, Molise, Valle d’Aosta, the province of Trento and the province of Bolzano. While the highest number of deaths in Sicily (9, of which 6 were previous as indicated in the note below), Lombardy (7), Campania (7, of which 3 were previous) and Lazio (7, of which 3 were previous).

The health system

Hospital stays are increasing in every area. The beds occupied in ordinary Covid wards I’m +79 (yesterday +16), for a total of 3,124 hospitalized. The beds occupied in intensive care (TI) are +12 (yesterday +2) – this is the balance between the people who left and those who entered ICU -, bringing the total of the most seriously ill patients to 395, with 37 admissions to resuscitation (yesterday 36).

I vaccinate

The vaccine doses administered are over 90,4 millions. Citizens who have completed the vaccination cycle are over 44,9 millions (83,30% of the population over 12). To have received at least one single dose are 46.6 million people (86.45% of vaccinables). Here the map updated every evening and here the real-time data of the anti Covid-19 vaccines report on the government website.
