A maxi menu of 36 meetings, with an increasingly higher level. AND the feast of international padel that awaits the Friday spectators of the Intesa Sanpaolo FIP Gold Milan 2021 presented by Enel, the first historic Italian tournament in the top category of the Cupra Fip Tour. An event strongly desired to promote high-level padel in Milan, and in a terrific location like that of Piazza Città di Lombardia.
Not even most of the most prestigious tournaments of the World Padel Tour can boast a similar location, which testifies better than any other detail the quality of an appointment that, together with the WPT stage in Cagliari and the next Cupra Fip Finals (arriving in December always in the Sardinian capital) represents the flagship of the Italian movement, as well as one of the rare occasions to see some of the best players in the world on the pitch in our country.
Like Juan Martin Diaz, world number one for 14 years alongside the legend Fernando Belasteguin, who in the evening (in the second match from 19) he will make his debut in the round of 16 in Milan, where he arrived directly from Dubai after taking part in an exhibition tournament with other of the most popular names in the world of padel.
The debut of Juan Martin Diaz, who for the occasion is paired with world number 30 Jesus Moya (born in 2000 and therefore 25 years younger than “El Galleguito”), says that at the foot of Palazzo Lombardia the time has come for all the strongest, after four days reserved for the preliminary stages who have seen many blue (and non-Italian) players fighting for the dream of qualifying for the Cuadro Final, and having the opportunity to take the field in one of the most characteristic squares in the city of Milan, live on SuperTennix and on the YouTube channel of the International Padel Fedeation (FIP).
Between the sixteenth and eighth finals, a total of eight matches will be played on the Centrale in Piazza Città di Lombardia, with other great players on the field. For example, in the afternoon it will be the turn of the ambitious Italian couple Cremona-Cassetta, as well as Chiara Pappacena and Giorgia Marchetti, who challenge D’Ambrogio-Cascella in a tricolor derby.
From 7pm the evening session: the Italo-Argentines Marcelo Capitani and Andres Britos open, who on Thursday won their debut match with a padel all tactic and brains. The two blue nations have earned the opportunity to challenge the second couple of seeding: they are the young Spaniards Ivan Ramirez (n.29 in the world) and Alejandro Arroyo (n.48), 39 years old in two and among the sure protagonists of the world circuit in a not so distant future. Following the debut of Diaz-Moya, then that of the number three Antonio Fernandez Cano and Josè Antonio Garcia Diestro, opposed to Nicolò Cotto and his Spanish companion Adrian Blanco.
