A few hundred young people from antagonist groups and social centers gathered in Padua in the afternoon to challenge the Brazilian president Jair Bolsonaro, arrived in the city to visit the basilica of the saint after receiving honorary citizenship ad Anguillara Veneta.

The demonstrators lined up at the entrance to via Belludi, the road that leads to the Basilica of Sant’Antonio. On the spot a dense array of riot police officers, also on the spot trucks and fire hydrants. There were some moments of tension that culminated with two police charges and the use of fire hydrants to remove the demonstrators and thus allow the Brazilian president to arrive.
