(ANSA) – ROME, OCTOBER 27 – Terna, on the occasion of the Cop26 to be held in Glasgow from October 31 to November 12, launches the new “Terna4Green” project, which will make it possible to monitor progress in the decarbonisation process of Italy, consistently with the targets outlined by the Pniec (The National Integrated Plan for Energy and Climate 2030) and with the international objectives in terms of sustainable development. This was announced by Terna, explaining that “this digital platform, the first and only one of its kind, allows thousands of data and estimates on Italian electricity production to be compared and correlated in real time with the values of carbon dioxide emissions into the atmosphere”.

In particular, we read in the note from the Italian electricity transmission operator, in the “CO2 savings” section, Terna’s data show the tons of carbon dioxide that the electricity system saves every hour and for each market area thanks to the production of energy from renewable sources such as hydroelectric, wind, photovoltaic and geothermal.

Instead, the “CO2 emissions” illustrates the quantities of carbon dioxide released into the atmosphere from traditional sources, divided by fuel such as coal, gas, oil.

Terna’s savings values ”can be navigated through a historical chart which, within the dashboard developed by the company that manages the national transmission grid, allows you to view the daily, monthly and annual progression of carbon dioxide not emitted in atmosphere and to compare the performance of the different renewable sources. The result is the graphic and detailed representation of the decarbonisation related to the production of renewable electricity “. (HANDLE).
