According to what emerged, the autopsy on the two girls confirmed that their death was due to “violent mechanical suffocation”: they were killed with a pillow, even if nothing was found out of place in the room. Other medical legal investigations will be made, but the prosecutor Federica Ormanni will give the authorization for the burial. The murder file is open against unknown persons.

On Tuesday morning, the mother told a social worker that her daughters were sick: “Please, the girls have a fever, give me some medicine and then let them sleep. I’m not sending them to school today.”

The mayor of Verona, Federico Sboarina, reconstructed what happened in the municipal facility: “The lady reported that the two daughters were indisposed and asked for an anti-flu drug. After some time, the operator went into the rooms and saw the girls in bed who seemed to be sleeping, the light on in the bathroom. For this reason she thought that her mother was inside the bathroom and left the room. After about ten minutes – continued Sboarina – the operator returned to the room, entered in the bathroom and realized that no one was there. At that point she went to check on the two girls making the terrible discovery. They were already lifeless. The bathroom window was open and therefore the mother has surely moved away from there”.

As for the relationship with her husband and the reasons that led to the expulsion of the woman and the daughters from the family, it was learned that the complaints for alleged mistreatment of the man have recently been filed. “Rather than giving the girls to my husband, I will kill them and I will kill myself”, is the phrase that people close to the woman have often heard her repeat. She had also stated this at the end of interviews with doctors who had heard her several times to establish her parenting capacity.
