The young woman died immediately after the accident while the woman, in red code, was taken by air ambulance to the Maggiore hospital in Novara, where she later died. Only minor injuries for the man who was driving the other car.
The accident occurred on the provincial road in the stretch that connects Bogogno to Cavaglietto, just over 400 inhabitants in the area between Borgomanerese and the lower. The mother was accompanying her daughter to school from Vaprio, the town where the family lived, and then went to work in Ghemme. The violent crash occurred at an intersection which was the scene of numerous accidents. The traffic police, the fire brigade, the local police of Cavaglietto intervened on the spot with the 118, which closed the road to carry out the surveys still in progress. In 2021 accidents with more victims are on the increase
After the decline in 2020, mainly due to the lodkdown, in 2021 road accidents started to increase again. According to data provided by the Asaps Observatory, the association of traffic police supporters, in the first six months of this year there were 48 multi-fatal road accidents, with 105 victims (43 accidents with 2 deaths, two with 3 deaths, two with 4 dead, one with over 4 victims) and 97 injured. Compared to 2020, multi-fatal accidents increased by 29.7%, victims by 18%, injured by 120%; 28 accidents involved cars, 4 trucks, 16 motorcycles. Pedestrians were also involved in two episodes. Almost half of the very serious crashes (23) occurred in the south, followed by north (16) and center (9): at the top of the national ranking Sicily (9), then Emilia-Romagna and Puglia with 8. The distinction by type road traffic illustrates that 16 of these accidents occurred on highways or expressways (33.3%), 26 on state and provincial roads (the most dangerous), 54.2%, and 6 in urban areas (12.5%). The greatest number of very serious crashes occurred in the 12-18 time slot, with 19 events (39.6%), 14 multiple deaths occurred from 18 to 24 (29.2%), 11 from 6 to 12 (22.9%) ) and 4 (8.3%) between midnight and 6 in the morning.
