Ita Airways, eight direct flights to Milan Linate diverted to Malpensa

Eight Ita Airways flights, Corriere della Sera reports, on the morning of 22 October instead of landing at Milan Linate airport were diverted elsewhere due to fog. In particular, seven aircraft arrived at Malpensa and one in Genoa. At the same time, however, other companies regularly operated on Linate: Ita in fact would not have completed the “running-in” period before which it is not allowed to move in conditions of poor visibility. Therefore, on 22 October, due to the fog, the eight carriers were not authorized to land.
