The best students in Italy, the Alfieri del Lavoro, will be awarded today at the Quirinale on the occasion of the delivery of the honors to the Cavalieri del Lavoro. Together with the students selected in 2021, the award will also be awarded to those selected in 2020 who were not summoned to Rome last year due to the Covid emergency. The award is promoted by the National Federation of Knights of Labor to enhance excellence and merit in study. In short, not only acknowledgments to industry and great Italian entrepreneurship, but also to the commitment and dedication in school life. The Alfieri del Lavoro, twenty-five each year, receive the certificate of honor and the Medal of the President of the Republic. Born in 1961, coinciding with the centenary of the unification of Italy, the Prize celebrates its 60th anniversary this year. Among the twenty-five selected for the current year is Mario Ferrante. Born in Piedimonte Matese 19 years ago, he resides in San Potito Sannitico in the province of Caserta and obtained his scientific high school diploma, with honors, from the Galileo Galilei of his country of origin. He is currently a student of La Sapienza in Rome, enrolled in the Faculty of Physics. Among those selected in 2020 and awarded the Medal of the President of the Republic is Sara Vicinanza of Salerno. He is 20 years old, lives in San Cipriano Picentino and has obtained, with honors, the high school license at the Linguistico Alfano I of Salerno. After high school, she chose the Faculty of Social and International Political Sciences and enrolled at the Alma Mater Studiorum in Bologna-.

The requirements

The requirements to become a standard bearer of work are linked to academic performance. For 2021, school managers reported 3,015 students, of which 2,789 with the requisites required: minimum grade of 9/10 at the Middle school diploma and at least 8/10 average for each of the first four years of the High School. The grade of 100/100 in the state exam was subsequently verified only for the candidates of the final ranking. The reports were received from all regions: 1,192 from the North, 562 from the Center, 1,031 from the South and 4 from Italian schools abroad. In the ranking 1,755 females and 1,034 males: 1,880 come from high schools and 909 from technical and professional institutes. The territorial origin of the 25 Alfieri of 2020 is represented by 9 provinces in the North, 5 in the Center, 10 in the South and 1 from abroad distributed in 16 Regions. Of the winners 11 are women and 14 are men; 20 have a high school diploma and 5 a technical diploma. Of the winners, 14 are women and 11 are men; 21 have a high school diploma, 3 a technical diploma and 1 a professional diploma.
