The ranking of safe cities: where the center-left rules, crime reigns

Five out of five. The first places in the annual ranking on the index of the crime, elaborated by Sole 24Ore, are occupied by provinces administered by the left. The latter, from provinces led by the center right. First in class is the metropolitan city (former province) of Milano, firmly in the hands of the Democratic Party for ten years and again for the next five, after Beppe Sala’s victory in the administrative elections of 3 and 4 October. In the Lombard capital, in the first months of 2021, 159,613 complaints were presented, equal to 4,866 per 100 thousand inhabitants.

In second place in this ranking – in which the lowest places are the most coveted – is the metropolitan city of Bologna, a stronghold of the left from the second post-war period onwards, with 47,192 complaints. Followed by Rimini, with 15,642 complaints, Prato with 11,426 and Florence, with 42,957. All provinces led by the left. And it’s not just the number of complaints that makes an impression, but also the types of crime. Milan, for example, is first for home theft and extortion, second for robbery, third for criminal association and theft in shops. Data that debunk the words of Beppe Sala, who said in the election campaign: “Milan is not Gotham City and has no security problems“. The first to comment on the merciless numbers is the Northern League MEP Silvia Sardone:”For a change, also with regard to the first half of 2021, Milan is confirmed as the capital of crime in Italy. We know that for the left, security is a nuisance“.

The safest provinces of Italy, on the other hand, are administered by center right. In the last place (the 106th, the one, as written above, the most coveted) is classified Oristano, with 2,582 complaints, 1,654 per 100 thousand inhabitants. The Sardinian city has been administered by the center-right since 2017, while the province has been led by a regional commissioner since 2015. As well as the province of Pordenone, which has just re-elected a civic mayor supported by the center-right, with 1,841 complaints per 100,000 inhabitants, and that of Benevento, in the hands of the center-right since 2018, with 1,886 complaints per 100,000 inhabitants. With all due respect to Enrico Letta, who for weeks has been trying to convince Italians that “the word “security” is not a right word“.
