(ANSA) – PALERMO, OCTOBER 23 – Ministers and former ministers, former premier Conte and also actor Richard Gere will parade on the witness stand at the trial of former interior minister Matteo Salvini, accused of kidnapping and omission of official acts for having prohibited the disembarkation of 147 migrants rescued by the Spanish ship Open Arms. This was decided by the court of Palermo which admitted all the texts cited by the parties. Among the witnesses admitted, in addition to the former Prime Minister Conte and the actor Richard Gere, the Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese, and three members of the so-called Conte Uno: the former Deputy Prime Minister Luigi Di Maio and the former Transport Ministers Danilo Toninelli and in defense, Elisabetta Trenta. Also cited was the former director of the Aise and the former Maltese premier Muscat.
The trial was postponed to December 17 for the examination of the first three witnesses of the Prosecutor’s Office. (HANDLE).
