Starting from the 2021/22 season DAZN has become the main player of Serie A. The sports streaming platform has in fact been awarded the TV rights of the Italian top league until 2024, with an offer – presented in partnership with TIM – by 840 million euros per season.
For this year and for the following two DAZN will in fact broadcast all the Serie A championship matches, of which seven exclusively and three co-exclusive. A real revolution for the Italian market, which has embraced the world of streaming.
How many DAZN subscribers are there – The numbers of the platform
But how many subscribers to the platform are there in Italy? According to what has been learned from Football and Finance from environments close to the Lega Calcio, the number of users who have signed up for a DAZN subscription is currently equal to about 2 million.
A figure that must be read considering the so-called “concurrency” factor, since DAZN allows the use of streaming simultaneously on two different devices, and to which the number of subscribers in the world must also be added bars, restaurants and hotels (for which there is a distribution agreement with Sky).
How many subscribers are there to DAZN – Advertising investments on the rise
The numbers – still learns Football and Finance – are in line with audience data and also explain the significant performance the platform is having in terms of advertising investments. In this regard, the CEO of Publitalia Stefano Sala had indicated an increase of 10% during the Lega’s Assembly on 19 October last.
In any case, these are very interesting numbers for the streaming sports platform, considering that the Serie A championship started just over two months ago and that the season has yet to go live.
