If in 2020 the average incidence of complaints from Covid 19 out of the total of all accidents at work reported toInail it was 1 out of 4, in the first nine months of this year it dropped to 1 in 12. This is revealed by the 20th national report of Inail, prepared by the Statistical Actuarial Consultancy, published today together with the new regional in-depth sheets.
The report highlights how the incidence of deaths caused by the Covid on the total of fatal cases, which went from about 1 in 3 reports in 2020 to 1 in 5 this year.
The 2021, with 33,610 infections from Covid 19 from professional reported, currently accounts for 18.5% of the total injuries related to the virus received since the beginning of the pandemic. Compared to the first nine months of 2020, in particular, the cases of contagion detected between January and September of this year, although not consolidated, are down by 40%, the fatal ones by 43.4%.
INAIL: ACCIDENTS DUE TO COVID 19, THE DATA OF LAZIO
Between January 2020 and September 2021, in Lazio have been registered byInail 12,092 reports of accidents at work from Covid 19, of which 81 were fatal. The Lazio figure accounts for 6.7% of the total in Italy.
Among the provinces, the largest number of cases concern the province of Roma (9616), followed by Latina (850) e Frosinone (826). About 60% of women fell ill and reported the infection to Inail.
“The analysis in the region – explains theInail compared to Lazio – points out that the 12,092 complaints received from the beginning pandemic 74.3% of the cases refer to 2020 and 25.7% to the first nine months of 2021. In line with what has been observed at the national level, more than half of the cases are concentrated in the last quarter of 2020. 2021 is characterized , both at a regional and national level, from a decreasing trend although in the region, over the nine months, higher percentages than the national averages, with more contained numbers in the summer months “.
WORK AND COVID: WHICH PROFESSIONS HAVE GOT THE MOST SICK IN LAZIO
They are the so-called “health technicians” i workers which, in Lazio, have suffered more infections from coronavirus. It is about nurses for 86%, followed at a great distance by physiotherapists and radiology technicians. There has also been a large number of infections among the medici: generalists, internists, anesthetists-resuscitators, cardiologists, orthopedists, chief physicians in medical therapies, radiologists and oncologists. The third most affected category is that of socio-health workers (7.4% of the total).
Inail data confirm that healthcare professionals are those most at risk of contagion from Covid 19. For this reason their category was among the first to be vaccinated, and will probably be the first to be invited to do the third dose. It is right from the sector of the health care and social assistance (63.1%) that there were more reports of accidents, related to the coronavirus, in the period considered in Lazio.
