Chassis

The Showa SFF-BP 43 mm cartridge inverted fork guarantees a travel of 150 mm and is adjustable in the spring preload. The pressurized single-tube Showa rear shock absorber – with 14mm diameter rod – also features 150mm wheel travel.
To adjust the set-up in case of luggage or passenger transport, the spring preload is adjustable with a hydraulic knob adjuster. Aluminum wheels are obtained for die casting end with a sand heart, which allows you to create a cavity in the center of the front hub. With regard to vibrations, the second order forces of inertia are canceled out by the reciprocal movement of the pistons, while the first order inertia forces and the roll torque are canceled out by two balancing countershafts. The water and oil pumps are driven by the balance shafts. The presence of a phonic wheel, with teeth spaced at 10 ° intervals, ensures the detection of misfires, an important function for OBD2 / EURO5 compliance. For the same purpose, LAF (Linear Air Fuel) sensors in the manifolds allow accurate measurement of the air / fuel mixture ratio.
The TBW throttle control handles engine performance and character, as well as HSTC traction control and wheelie wheelie control. The rider can choose between 3 preset Riding Modes that cover a wide variety of riding conditions thanks to the 3 adjustment levels for P (Power) and EB (Engine Brake), with level 1 providing the maximum of both parameters. USER modes 1 and 2 offer the driver the possibility to freely set all parameters. Once set, the USER mode is stored, so it is not necessary to re-enter the settings each time the engine is started.

DCT

In addition to the 6-speed manual transmission, the NT1100 is offered with the DCT system, which offers two distinct driving approaches. The automatic transmission, with programmed shift patterns that constantly read vehicle speed, selected gear and engine rpm to decide when to shift; and manual gearbox (MT), to manually engage the gear using the paddles on the handlebar of the left block. You can choose between two automatic transmission settings: D (Drive) for relaxed driving and maximum fuel efficiency, S (Sport) for more responsive driving. The S mode offers 3 levels: the first is the most contained, with gear changes at medium revs, while the third allows for a more aggressive driving style with high revs. Level 2 is the intermediate option.
