For several days now, many Iliad users have not been able to top up their credit online: trying to pay a top up with any card with a Mastercard circuit, in fact, you receive the error:
The information entered is invalid or your card does not support “3D Secure”. Please contact your bank for more information.
3D Secure is a protocol for verifying online payments, which has recently become mandatory, as established by the Payment Systems Directive (PSD2). 3D Secure requires the user to confirm the payment, usually through the application of their bank or by entering a code received via SMS.
However, even with cards on which 3D Secure is correctly enabled, it is still impossible to top up on the Iliad website to date. Several users have reported having asked their banks for clarification (as indicated by Iliad), which have always confirmed that the problem lies with the operator.
At the moment, the only way to top up the credit is to use an alternative system: set the charge on the IBAN, top up in a ticket office or at an operator’s Simbox.
We contacted Iliad to ask for more information: we will update the article as soon as there is news about it.
