MILANO – Three months after the operation that led Garage Italia to join forces with the Swiss Youngtimers, Lapo Elkann leaves his positions in the creative company that deals with personalizing cars.
In a note, Lapo Elkann made it known that he “presented today his resignation from the position of director and chairman of the board of directors of Garage Italia Customs Srl”. And he details that he is leaving “every position of the creative hub he founded in 2017 and recently acquired by Youngtimers Asset Company AG”.
On Twitter, Lapo Elkann added that he resigned “with immediate effect” and that the decision was made because of a “disagreement with the new partners”. Following the summer agreements, Lapo Elkann had become a partner in the Swiss holding (approximately 23%) that controls Garage Italia: he will maintain this position.
Still on the social network, Lapo Elkann made a message of thanks to the Garage Italia team: “Thanks to the Employees, Founding Members and Partners with whom We have shared and created unique and unforgettable projects together. I want to thank you one by one. from the Deep of the Heart (with the emoticon) “.
The note states that the entrepreneur “will continue to lead the company – which he himself wholly holds – owner of L’Astronave di Piazzale Accursio in Milan (the former service station in which the same Garage Italia is located with the restaurant that was launched by Carlo Cracco) and by FB Garage Srl, a company active in the organization of events “.
