The English dominates during the last race of the Argentine weekend. The Northern Irishman follows ahead of the world championship leader. The last round in Indonesia for the title assignment was decisive
Scott Redding wins in Race 2 on the San Juan Villicum track, effectively reopening the fate of the championship. Twelfth victory in Superbike for the rider of the Borgo Panigale house. Second position for Jonathan Rea, author of a great race and a close fight with Toprak Razgatlioglu who has to settle for third position. Championship still open, only 30 points separate the Turkish Yamaha rider from Rea in the world championship standings, in Indonesia the arduous sentence. Twenty-one laps of Race 2. Razgatlioglu, Redding, Rea start from the front row. Alex Lowes can’t do it due to problems with his right hand still injured. Seventeen laps from the end Redding leads the race, but goes wide and Razgatlioglu returns to first place followed by Rea, the British Ducati rider third. Fifth Rinaldi, seventh Locatelli. Rea’s driving was spectacular, but despite this he was unable to pass the Turkish, Redding took advantage of it and took second place. Redding passes Razgatlioglu with twelve laps to go. Unchanged the top ten laps from the end of the last race of the Argentine weekend. Rea tries and passes Razgatlioglu with eight laps to go, the Turkish rider from Yamaha immediately responds. Twelfth career win for Scott Redding: “I didn’t feel so good at the start of the race, I tried to hold positions, then I tried to keep the pace and I found myself among the first.
