Sicily has risen to the first place among the regions in Italy for the administration of the first dose of vaccine against Covid. The figure, relating to Friday, is 8,795 ampoules out of a national total of 70,270. Behind the island, Campania with 8,681, Lombardy 8,048, plus Lazio with 5,913.
This is clearly the effect of the mandatory green pass on the workplace. In addition to the boom in the first vaccine doses, among other things, there was a strong increase also of the processed swabs, which was 50,000 more than in the previous 24 hours. If you look at the weekly data, from Monday to Friday, the first doses administered in Sicily were about 45 thousand, ten thousand more than last week. And as a result of the green pass, the first doses have surpassed the calls.
The trend is confirmed by data from all over Italy. The great majority of Italian workers still without a green pass rushed to swab to be in compliance. And on Friday, on the first day of the obligation, the record of green certifications issued was recorded: there were 867,039 in the country, exceeding the peak of the previous day (860,094). The boom in “passes” is mainly due to the run for tampons: 653,827, almost double compared to the previous Friday, when there were 351,870. From the structure of the emergency commissioner Francesco Figliuolo then they report the growth of the first doses of vaccine throughout the country: 69 thousand, over ten thousand more than the previous Friday.
