LECCE – There were just four hospitalizations for symptoms from Covid during the week in the province of Lecce, for a total of 38 people currently distributed among the wards.

According to the hospitalization rate, reported in the periodic ASL report, * a hospitalized patient with complete vaccination corresponds to 7 without any dose and 1.5 with only one dose (here how it is calculated). Three, however, the deaths noted, but in the last hours there was the death of a 56-year-old who was in intensive care, where there are currently three patients.

The current positives are 386

As for the spread of Sars Cov2, positive test results were 161 out of approximately 4,700 individual cases tested, for a ratio close to 3.5 percent. The current positives known to the health system are 386, with a decrease of 148 units compared to last Friday’s figure. The incidence of new cases, in seven days and per 100 thousand inhabitants, has increased, passing from 17.2 to 20.4: there are, in fact, some outbreaks, the last in the convent of the Poor Clares, in Alessano.

Considering the entire province, the average number of positive cases per thousand inhabitants is 0.5: in Carmiano it is 2.9 with 11 new cases during the week; in Cutrofiano it is 2.4 with 18 new positives; in Spongano it is 3.1 with 8 new cases.

Vaccination: complete cycle for 71% of the population

The number of first vaccine doses made in the week is 4,501 (including six single doses), for an updated total equal to 76 percent of the entire resident population (including children up to 12 years, excluded for now). As for the full cycle, coverage is just 71 percent. The number of third doses administered so far is. instead, of 3,501.

From the analysis of the numbers by age group it emerges that the most vaccinated includes citizens aged 70 to 79 with 91 percent of the reference population already reached, while the most discovered at the moment is the group between 30 and 39 years, with about 27 percent who did not even receive the first dose (only a small part is incompatible for health reasons).

In absolute terms, there are 14,086 young people between 12 and 19 years of age “missing”; 18,338 young people between 20 and 29; 23,424 adults between 30 and 39 years old; 29,701 citizens between 40 and 49; 23,471 between 50 and 59 years; 12,876 people between 60 and 69 years; 8,079 between 70 and 79 years; 5,933 elderly people between 80 and 89 and 3,943 over ninety.

Regional bulletin

Meanwhile, there are 102 new positives in Puglia according to the regional epidemiological bulletin, of which 17 in the province of Lecce. Two deaths were registered, while 151 hospitalized were recorded, of which 133 in the medical area and 18 in intensive care. The incidence of new cases in Puglia, calculated over seven days, is just under 17 per 100 thousand inhabitants.
