With a post on the official forum of New World, Amazon Games has announced that it will take countermeasures against the bot that accumulate resources within the game. Plus the developers they will deactivate keys purchased from third-party resellers, therefore, outside of Steam and Amazon.
The Amazon Games community manager explains that to limit the phenomenon of bots and “gold farmers” he will deactivate thousands of New World keys purchased from unauthorized third-party resellers. This paradoxically could create, hopefully in an extremely limited number of cases, gods problems even for those who have purchased the game regularly on Steam and Amazon. If you are one of the unlucky ones, the developers invite players to get in touch with customer service, which you can find at this address.
“We have seen your reports indicating the presence of bots and “gold farmers” in the game. We take these reports very seriously and would like to let you know that we are working to ensure fair gameplay for everyone. For this reason we will revoke thousands of keys that have been obtained in a fraudulent way damaging the game. If you think New World has been removed from your Steam account by mistake, which is a possibility, please contact us to resolve the issue.“
“As a reminder, please only purchase New World from one of the two authorized resellers (Steam and Amazon). This is the only way to ensure that your key is genuine and functioning correctly. We do not support keys sold by third party resellers as these are often obtained illegally.”
Just a few days ago, Amazon Games released New World Update 1.02 which fixes some bugs and makes changes to factions.
