The Motogiro d’Italia makes a stop in Macerata

The thirtieth edition of the Historical re-enactment of the Motogiro d’Italia, the gran fondo of vintage motorcycles and more, conceived at the end of the eighties by Moto Club Terni Libero Liberati-Paolo Pileri and created in collaboration with Motorcycle Federation Italian and International that despite the pandemic, it was the only major traveling motoring event that did not stop. In fact, after the move to the autumn of the 2020 edition, the 2021 edition was also postponed from May to October, but this gave the possibility to the numerous foreigners, present for years at the Motogiro, to be able to reach our country and participate regularly in the event.

The arrival at 12 in Piazza Mazzini

The stage that passes through Macerata, sponsored by the Municipality of Macerata and organized in collaboration with the Pro Loco Macerata,n memory of Lauro Micozzi rider, motorcycle restorer and Ducati collector, will be leaving Colli del Tronto at 9 am will arrive in the city at 12 after 127 km from the start and will see about seventy motorcycles and about forty cars in the race.

The arrival is expected in Piazza Mazzini where there will be time control and reorganization with a refreshment point where participants can taste a typical dish of our territory: vincisgrassi.

From here the competitors will start again in the direction of Filottrano, Jesi, Corinaldo and Pesaro to end at 5 pm in the Misano racetrack, after 311 km, where the last special stage will take place, the one that probably, given what has happened in recent editions, will designate the winner of the Historical Reenactment of the Motogiro d’Italia 2021.

Many foreign participants

The large group of Italians at the Motogiro this year were joined by about thirty British who, together with the Dutch, Germans, French, Spaniards, Norwegians, Americans, and South Americans. To these must also be added about fifty crews taking part in the third edition of theAutogiro d’Italia that even with a different organization, carry out the same route as the motorcycles creating a unique event in the world, a caravan that for six days will cross the whole of central Italy from the Adriatic Sea to the Tyrrhenian Sea and vice versa, where it will be possible to admire the motorcycles and cars they have made the history of motorization worldwide, practically a real museum of traveling motors.

Historic brands at the Motogiro

Among the motorbikes, all the historic Italian brands that took part in the great fund of the 1950s among which, Ducati, Gilera, Moto Guzzi, Bianchi, MV Agusta, Laverda, Moto Morini and Benelli. Same thing goes for cars with the presence of Ferrari, Maserati, Lamborghini, Alfa Romeo, Mercedes, Aston Martin and Jaguar.
