An important initiative by free training and work for young people and women of our territory is leaving in the coming weeks. It’s about the project SIRCLES – Supporting Circular Economy Opportunities for Employment and Social Inclusion – funded by the European Union through the ENI CBC Med 2014-2020 program, for the Municipalities of Noci, Alberobello, Locorotondo and Putignano.
The main objective is to promote the creation of new jobs in the organic waste sector in tourist areas of the Mediterranean with a high unemployment rate. Through a free training program divided into theoretical and practical phases, the project intends to provide participants with adequate skills for entering the world of work in the organic waste sector.

In fact, participants will have the opportunity to:
- take an online course, divided into 5 events, on the theme of Circular Economy;
- undertake an intensive course of specialized and paid training, distributed over 10 months, for the acquisition of technical and practical tools in the field;
- design and implement awareness-raising initiatives and activities, within 10 months, aimed at users and tourists in the municipalities involved;
- live an experience with a strong social and environmental impact, shared with important institutional partners.
The preferential recipients are YOUNG NEETS, i.e. the population aged between 18 and 24 who is neither employed nor included in an education or training course, and PEOPLE of any age at risk of social exclusion residing in the Municipalities of Alberobello. , Locorotondo, Noci and Putignano.
The coordination of the project is by the Italian Composting Consortium in collaboration with PROGEVA Srl, Composting company, with plant located in Laterza (TA), CIHEAM, Center for post-graduate training, applied scientific research and planning of interventions in the context of international research and cooperation programs, e South East Donne, Social Promotion Association that deals with preventing and combating violence against women.
Applications are open until November 1, 2021. Participation is free.
