Two 13-year-old girls who were aboard the same scooter were seriously injured in a collision with a car. The incident took place on the evening of Wednesday 13 October in Viale della Repubblica in Lecce. Both are hospitalized in the Vito Fazzi hospital in the Salento capital: one girl is in a coma, while the other is on a reserved prognosis.

According to the first testimonies, the two 13-year-olds weren’t wearing a helmet. The dynamics of the incident are being examined by local police officers. The electric vehicle collided with a Mercedes arriving from the same direction, driven by a 48-year-old man who tested negative for alcohol.
