Come anticipated almost a year ago, Sixt relaunches its transformation from mere renter and short term an all-round mobility provider, also presenting in Italy Sixt+, the completely flexible “all inclusive” car subscription system, already active in more mature markets, such as Germany, France or the United Kingdom. “The transformation started in 2018, when we pushed the transition from physical to digital,” he says Angelo Ghigliano, Vice president & managing director of Sixt Rent a Car Italia. “With Sixt + we take a decisive step towards the new trend of use instead of buying cars, proposing a subscription for 199 euros thanks to which you can access an offer of different categories of cars starting from 499 euros per month, all inclusive. Furthermore, every month you can renounce the contract, without penalties, with maximum flexibility “. Sixt + can be booked and managed via app or web, with just a few steps, thus completing the platform’s mobility services Sixt One: that is to say Sixt rent, Sixt ride O Sixt share, currently operating only in Germany. This subscription service, currently only for the world of individuals and freelancers, is applied to the entire Sixt car fleet and can also be subscribed in 100% digital mode, where it is possible to increase or decrease the mileage required and add or remove an additional driver or decide to increase the insurance coverage up to the complete Kasko in total autonomy.
Development plans. In addition to Sixt +, Ghigliano rattles off the stages of the German brand’s growth in Italy: “Up to 2017 Italy was one of over 105 countries where Sixt is present with franchise agreements. But that year we opened a direct office, as in 9 other European countries plus the United States, this is the market where we have grown a lot even during the pandemic. In recent years we have opened 44 rental points in Italy (divided into 23 airports, 11 stations and 11 in the city center, ed). And in 2022 we plan to open another 15 stations, especially in the city center ”. Where Sixt proposes an especially premium car fleet: 70% of the vehicles are already so, “especially of German brands, but also, for example, Maserati”, Ghigliano recalls, underlining how this is “one of our assets, together with the fact of to be in the best airport locations and in the city and to take great care of our service “.
