The meeting between Sport and Health and the FIGC confirmed Rome as the venue for the challenge that could be worth qualifying for the 2022 World Cup
Italy-Switzerland, the “match of the year” for the national team, at least in the definition given by Roberto Mancini, will be played regularly at the Olimpico in Rome on Friday 12 November at 8.45 pm. It is a real direct match for the first place in group B of the world qualifiers.
Too many races?
Until yesterday, a change of venue was not ruled out, due to too many commitments scheduled at the Olimpico. In fact, on the calendar before Italy-Switzerland, there are rugby, Lazio-Salernitana of the championship and the commitment of Roma in the Conference League against Bodoe. Today, Tuesday 12 October, an official match between Sport and Salute and the FIGC ruled out a change of venue and confirmed that the match will be played in Rome.
The Federcalcio immediately announced that the sale of tickets for Italy-Switzerland, the match that can give the Azzurri a pass for Qatar, will begin at 12 noon on Monday 18 October.
Female in Palermo
Instead, it will be Renzo Barbera from Palermo to host the National Women’s team, which will always face Switzerland in the qualifying match for the 2023 World Cup. Match scheduled for Friday 26 November at 5.30 pm. Before that appointment, Milena Bertolini’s team – in command of group G together with Switzerland and Romania – will play on 22 October in Castel di Sangro against Croatia and on 26 in Vilnius against Lithuania (18.30 local, 17.30 Italian).
