Florence, 10 October 2021 – An explosion and then a fire which for a few seconds caused a blackout in many parts of Florence. It happened in the evening on Sunday 10 October around 19. In many houses there was a power failure, especially in the area of via Pistoiese and district 4, but also Scandicci.

The violent fire affected the structures of Terna, the electricity distribution company, which are located not far from the cemetery of Peretola. There would be no injuries but immediately i fire fighters of the command of Florence have left to switch off the fire, which also affected the vegetation and which burst at the base of some pylons.

The explosions heard by the people would be related to of gas cylinders that have been devoured by flames. In fact, some homeless people had camped around the pylons, as reported by some citizens.
