Bologna, 9 October 2021 – ‘Coronavirus, who was he?‘. The members of the Circolo Bononia met the other evening at Palazzo Bolognetti, in via Castiglione, to this question with a Manzoni flavor, with the analogous question posed to the Greek philosopher Carneade. Present authorities, entrepreneurs and many representatives of the Bolognese aristocracy. The guest of honor of the evening was the professor Massimo Galli, infectious disease specialist and well-known face also on television of the last year and a half marked by the pandemic. Galli talked about the beginning of the nightmare, how the virus was able to jump from bats to humans, what has been done and what can be done.
“Also because we have to ask ourselves two more questions – Massimo Pandolfi, central editor of Il Resto del Carlino, moderator of the evening, opened the discussion, addressing Galli – who is Covid today and who will be Covid tomorrow. The Milanese doctor, head of the infectious diseases department del Sacco di Milano, reiterated the decisive importance of the vaccine, even if a third wild dose in his opinion is not needed. Galli then explained how the latest news regarding possible and new effective treatments against viruses are very comforting. For the future, however, Galli reiterated that we must pay the utmost attention, because certainties can never be had.
The honors were made by the president of the Circolo Bononia, Rosanna Ghetti; Professor also intervened Claudio Borghi, director of Internal Cardiovascular Medicine and Covid-19 Operative Unit who talked about his experience in the trenches at Sant’Orsola in these twenty months and Professor Battista Borghi of the Biomedical and Neuromotor Sciences Department at the University of Bologna who in turn told about the his double experience as a patient and Covid patient, healed thanks to a therapy that is not currently recognized by official protocols.
