The Corvette C8 Stingray arrives in Italy

MAKES HISTORY ITSELF – The American manufacturer announces the availability of the supercar in Italy Corvette C8 Stingray, the first with a central engine. It is offered both in the Coupé version, with prices starting from with prices ranging from 90,100 euros, and Convertible starting from 96,760. When compared in terms of price, this Corvette has very different cars as competitors, such as Porsche 911, BMW M4 and Lotus Emira.

DOES NOT GO UNKNOWN – The Chevrolet C8 Stingray it has an angular design, which is inspired by the F22 and F35 military aircraft. Low, aggressive and “pointed”, the eighth generation Corvette is a car that does not go unnoticed, especially in the brightest colors like those in the photos. In this regard, it is possible to order it by choosing from 15 body colors: Torch Red, Arctic White, Black, Flare Silver, Ceramic Matrix Gray, Tactical Red, Elkhart Lake Blue, Rapid Blue, and Accelerate Yellow, plus three new ones which are Caffeine Brown, Hypersonic Gray and Amplify Orange.

IT HAS TWO LUGGAGE CABINETS – The displacement of the engine to the central rear area has led to a change in the volumes and interior spaces for the Chevrolet C8 Stingray; the driving position advances by 42 cm compared to the C7, without however compromising the habitability too much. There are also two trunks, one in the front and one in the back.

AN OLD SCHOOL V8 – To push the Chevrolet C8 Stingray a powerful old-school engine, the 6.2-liter naturally aspirated Small Block V-8 LT2, delivers 482 hp and 613 Nm of torque (the engine is homologated to meet the Euro 6d standard), and is mated to an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. The V8 sits behind the driver and is covered by a 3.2mm thick, lightweight glass panel on the coupe’s tailgate. Despite the 1,730 kg, the Corvette Stingray is capable of sprinting from 0 to 100 km / h in 3.5 and reaching a top speed of 296 km / h.

SET UP UNDER CONTROL – The Chevrolet C8 Stingray uses coil-over shock absorbers controlled by Magnetic Ride Control 4.0, which, through the accelerometers mounted on the suspension, reads the road, adapting the car’s set-up. In any case, the user can choose the “character” of the car by acting on the 6 driving modes available.

ENVELOPES YOU – The interior of the Chevrolet C8 Stingray they see the presence of a dashboard that almost envelops the driver. The materials chosen are quality, with hand-cut and stitched leather, several metal elements, stainless steel speaker grilles with Bose Performance Series sound system, carbon fiber finishes, GT2 and Competition Sport seats (three options can be chosen of seats, GT1, GT2 and Competition Sport, which differ in material and design). There is no lack of technological elements such as the dashboard with a customizable 12-inch screen and the Performance Data Recorder, an advanced driving analysis tool. The latter uses a high-definition camera and an on-board user interface; customers can record both circuits and road routes.
