With the arrival of autumn, the house turns into a place where you spend a lot of time and it is important to prepare it so that it is warm, welcoming and ready to receive friends. This is what you need:
- 25 cm diameter plate;
- 1 cut flower sponge;
- 2 branches of alchechengi with fruits;
- 7-8 short-stemmed red roses;
- 3 dried hydrangea inflorescences;
- 4 red calla lilies;
- 3 protea flowers;
- 2 ornamental gourds;
- 1 bunch of fern leaves;
- 1 bunch of autumn chestnut leaves;
- green iron wire.
How to quickly create a warm autumn centerpiece with unusual and elegant flowers and fruits
The alchechengi, lantern-shaped, with calla lilies, hydrangeas and with an exotic flower, the South African protea form a splendid composition that is ideal as a centerpiece, but also placed on a piece of furniture in the room or, for a longer life, on the table of the covered balcony. Here’s how it’s done.
First you need to place the appropriately shaped cut flower sponge on the plate. All around, to create the basic red-green frame, you need to arrange the chestnut leaves and those of the fern.
The inflorescences of hydrangeas are inserted above the base, whose stems, to insert them more easily, must be wrapped with iron wire.
On the left side of the plate the four calla lilies are inserted and to bend them you always need the help of the iron wire.
After cutting the alchechengi branches, place them along the edge of the plate, so that they protrude like many small lanterns that will stand out on the green of the ferns.
On the top left empty, you need to put 7-8 fresh red roses after having shortened the stem. For a longer duration, dry ones can also be used.
The proteas are cut to a length of 8-10 cm and placed around the roses and in contrast with the hydrangeas. The centerpiece is completed with small ornamental pumpkins.
