These are the three “Food Ambassadors” that the Liguria Region will raise as champions of Ligurian territorial marketing in an international review such as Milan Wine Week, which will be held in the Lombard capital until 10 October. Milan Wine Week after the pandemic turns into a great moment of relaunch of the hospitality and catering sector and creates a program of experiences that puts wine in contact with art, fashion and design. Until October 10, Liguria will have its space in the elite of viticulture and food, having available one of the widespread spaces that will characterize the exhibition: the Isola area, a district north of the central Porta Garibaldi, where they will be featured together with wines made in Liguria, also extra virgin olive oil and Genoese basil. The goal is to carry out a great marketing campaign with that heritage that the whole world envies Liguria and which has obtained European certification. A trio of fantastic products that for many tourists are worth a holiday in the region and whose formula can be summed up in a few words: “little but exceptional”.

“Liguria, a strip of land and sun where eating and drinking well is easy: we have an abundance of traditional dishes and specialties paired with as many wines whose crops facing the sea have become heroic and almost a manifesto of our traditions , the spearhead of what the region can offer and a good starting point for our attractiveness – declares the president of the Liguria Region Giovanni Toti – For this reason we have decided to be present at the “Wine Week” which represents a stage of great importance for the promotion and enhancement of our products, on a market and a square of great prestige and traditionally linked to Liguria such as Milan and Lombardy. The choice to participate in this important event at the beginning of October fits into this perspective: to be protagonists together with many agri-food entrepreneurs who have believed in our land in recent years. We are sure that Liguria and its excellences will be able to be a driving force, both from a tourist and economic point of view, for our beautiful territory “.

The event on Thursday 7th at the “Deus ex Machina” in via Thaon de Ravel, in the Isola district where the “Regione Liguria District” is set up, will focus on these issues and on the importance that quality products have for Liguria. This is where the evening event “Food Ambassador by Liguria” will be staged, in the presence of Giovanni Toti president of the Liguria Region, Alessandro Piana vice president of the Region with responsibility for territorial marketing, Giovanni Berrino regional councilor for tourism and Roberto Moreno extraordinary commissioner of the Agency “in Liguria”.

The evening program includes various steps and above all moments of show cooking, with the presence of some “Food Ambassadors” in flesh and blood. Roberto Panizza, inventor of the World Mortar Pesto Championship, will start and will demonstrate how real Genoese pesto is made thanks to his traditional tools: a marble mortar of almost 200 years and an olive wood pestle in addition of course the traditional ingredients. of the recipe containing Genoese PDO basil.
