Marco Conidi’s song has conquered the team, now every game is played before the match
“What are you to me, explaining it is not easy” sang Marco Conidi in 2007. The song dedicated to Rome è “Never alone” and depopulated in the capital when the Giallorossi flew with the 4-2-3-1 of the first Luciano Spalletti. Now it is back in fashion and plays every time that Roma plays at the Olimpico before the kick-off, thrilling the fans. The credit goes mainly to Lorenzo Pilgrims, who began to put it in the locker room, conquering Mourinho who wanted it among the anthems played before the matches.
The captain sang it in his adolescence, when he was divided between the Curva Sud and the job of ball boy on the sidelines. “Never alone”it became the anthem of Mou’s first Rome, so much so that Conidi was invited to sing it (in a duet with Pellegrini) at the last team dinner, at the Le Vele restaurant in the San Pietro area, even in front of the Friedkins. A moment of great union, accompanied by the panolada of the whole restaurant and by the fans outside the venue. The same Conidi was filmed in the stadium, visibly moved as his song was played. It never happened. Now it can become a piece of history.
