Alarm listeria for a lot of the Porchetta di Ariccia Igp sold sliced and in vacuum packs under the FA.LU.CIOLI srl brand. The recall notice was issued by the Ministry of Health due to possible microbiological risk for consumers. In its factory in Via variant of chancellery in Ariccia, in the metropolitan city of Rome, the porchetta is packaged in vacuum bags of 180 grams each: the lot affected by the provision is number 270721 with expiry date or minimum conservation term set at 25 October 2021.
The recall of the porchetta di Ariccia was ordered as a precaution by the producer itself due to the microbiological risk due to the possible presence of Listeria Monocytogenes. The manufacturer has already taken steps to recall unsold pieces from the lot, inviting those who had already bought it not to consume it.
“In order to guarantee the safety of its consumers, it is recommended that those who have purchased the product with the same batch to which it belongs, not to consume it and to return it to the point of sale” reads the recall notice. For more information contact 06/9330125 – [email protected]”.
Listeria is responsible for listeriosis, a food poisoning that occurs within a few hours of ingesting the contaminated product and which causes diarrhea in the most typical form. In some more severe but rare cases, it can give rise to encephalitis and meningitis.
