They have arrived. Schools and youth centers in Milan are already hosting the workshops. And important exponents of Milanese politics appear as guests of honor at a symposium. All this is under the umbrella of “Meet”, a project that is generously funded by the EU and also includes “Femyso” (the Forum of student and youth organizations of European Muslims), an association which, as experts on Islam observe (but this is easily confirmed) is part of the galaxy of the Muslim Brotherhood, like the «Fioe».
The most authoritative confirmation came from Lorenzo Vidino, from Milan, director of the research program on extremism at George Washington University, a leading expert on Islamic radicalism, author of essays and investigations and now the signature of «Repubblica». “Femyso – he said – is the youth branch of Fioe, an organization that is identified as the pan-European structure of the Brotherhood by the services of half of Europe”.
Il Giornale already gave news of the project about two months ago, when it was presented to the Equal Opportunities Committee at Palazzo Marino. On that official occasion, among other things, it was said by the speakers that the project had already been presented to the deputy mayor Anna Scavuzzo. Without any denial or clarification, it emerged that this Meet was lavishly financed in Europe by the “Rights, equality and citizenship” program, which aims to promote gender equality among other things. The approach was immediately contested by the former deputy mayor, Riccardo De Corato: “In a nutshell – said the Fdi exponent – it is a project not to study the phenomenon of the submission of women in the Islamic world, but rather like ours country discriminates against Islamic girls ”.
In any case, that a project to combat “Islamophobia”, and aimed at promoting women’s rights, is supported by an organization close to the Brotherhood, is a paradox that only certain European (and left-wing) circles can pretend not to grasp. In the meantime, however, the Meet project has walked the city. He worked with schools for a “web series” and in August he was hosted in a municipal youth center. A few days ago (on 21 September) the culmination, with the European Day against Islamophobia, when «Femyso» – we read on the Meet website – hosted the Eu Policy Talks 2021, an event organized as part of the Meet project with «The Tree of Life», a non-profit organization that coordinates it in Italy. In the program of the event there are as guests the MEP Pierfrancesco Majorino (photo) and in another session the colleague Brando Benifei. The proceedings were opened and closed by Femyso’s general secretary, Hiba Latreche, an important figure who, like the “Etudiants Musulmans de Francee”, is involved in recent weeks in protests against the law wanted by French President Emmanuel Macron against “religious separatism “(” Hands off my hijab “their slogan:” Hands off my veil “). And what the secretary general said in May in the days of the latest conflict between Hamas and the Israeli army gives a good idea of the profile of these interlocutors. Announcing a demonstration for the next day in Strasbourg, he prepared it by rattling off the slogans: “Israel, disappear, Palestine is not yours!” “Zionists, Zionists, you are the terrorists.”
