Milan, “Maria Mulas per Milano” is the title of the exhibition and charity auction in favor of the world of culture that will take place at the PAC from 29 September to 1 October, promoted by the Municipality of Milan-Culture and Sotheby’s.
Maria Mulas, Italian artist and sister of the famous Ugo who died in 1973, has in fact decided to donate 60 original photographic works to the Municipality, already mounted enlargements to be sold through an online auction. The proceeds will be allocated to the Mutual Aid Fund of the Municipality of Milan to support the resumption of cultural activities in the city.
Born in March 2020 on the initiative of the Municipality of Milan to support the categories put in serious difficulty in the Covid-19 emergency and, subsequently, to support the resumption of city activities, the Mutual Aid Fund has already seen the disbursement to operators and subjects in the cultural field for 2 million euros and is always open to further contributions from individuals and businesses.
The auction will be preceded by an exhibition hosted in the halls of the PAC starting from Wednesday 29 September, where it will be possible to admire a selection of his photographic work: portraits of characters such as Gillo Dorfles, Lea Vergine, Lucio Amelio, Keith Haring, Pistoletto, Christo , along with other prominent figures in the art world. Also on display are surprising architectural abstractions, from New York to Milan and Venice.
