A daily average of 36 new infections and a weekly incidence of 23 Covid cases per 100 thousand Bergamo people. The trend of the epidemic in the province of Bergamo, while no longer showing the decrease that has characterized the last two weeks, remains stable.

The epidemic situation remains at “low levels of criticality” also thanks to the high level of vaccination coverage achieved, both in Lombardy and in the Bergamo area. On a regional scale, according to updated data from Pirellone, 14,800,084 vaccines have been administered and, in particular, in our province 89.06 per cent of the population is vaccinated with at least one dose. Specifically, 843,198 first doses and 754,895 boosters were injected in Bergamo.

The so-called “phase 3” of the vaccination campaign also started on Monday (20 September), which for the moment provides for a third additional dose dedicated to immunocompromised or transplanted patients. The booking methods remain the same as always: Lombard people can book their appointment by connecting to the online portal of the Lombardy Region.

The impact of new infections on regional hospitals remains limited. Overall, in Lombardy, on Friday 17 September there were 59 patients in intensive care and 427 patients hospitalized in ordinary wards. After a week, the Covid patients in critical area wards are 58, while those hospitalized in ordinary wards are 401 overall, i.e. 13 less.
