These are above all motorists who, often for work reasons, are forced to travel many kilometers every day and therefore intend to save on fuel and consume less. In Italy diesel cars continue to be very sold, according to official data, in fact, registrations from January to August 2021 were 255,769 in all. Let’s see what were the most successful models in the Bel Paese this year, despite the post lockdown situation, due to the Coronavirus pandemic, is really bringing the whole sector to its knees, also due to the semiconductor crisis (which we talked about) which seems to give no respite to the market.
According to the data Unrae, the ranking of the best-selling diesel cars in Italy between January and August 2021 opens with Volkswagen T-Roc in tenth place, with 6,438 units. The car boasts a range of 1.0 and 1.5 turbo petrol engines and 330 horsepower 2.0 turbo engines, but also offers a 110 or 150 horsepower 2.0 Tdi turbodiesel. List prices starting from 25,050 euros.
He follows BMW Serie 1 in ninth place, with 6,801 units. The third generation of the compact sedan this year offers the epochal innovation of front-wheel drive. Prices starting from 34,250 euros. Instead, it sells 7,373 units Audi Q3, the premium compact SUV earns the eighth position in the ranking, with prices starting at 35,000 euros. We then find the renewed version of Peugeot 2008 in seventh place among the best-selling diesel cars, with 8,488 registrations and prices starting at 21,050 euros.

And finally we get on the first step of the podium, with the SUV Peugeot 3008 in third position at 12,192 units sold in the first eight months of the year (from 29,500 euros), second place for Jeep Renegade, with a total of 12,535 registrations from January to August 2021 and prices starting at 24,250 euros. And finally, at the top of the ranking of the best-selling diesel cars in Italy today is the Fiat 500X (recently launched in the RED special edition), with 15,564 units and prices starting from 21,750 euros.
