I am 4,061 new cases of coronavirus in Italy (yesterday there were 3,970, here the bulletin). It goes up like this at least 4.649.906 the number of people who have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus (including recovered and died) since the outbreak began. THE deaths today I’m 63 (yesterday there were 67), counting 5 previous deaths in Lazio * and 5 in Sicily **, for a total of 130,551 victims from February 2020. People recovered or discharged they are altogether 4.414.272 e 5.466 those that came out of the Covid nightmare today (6,850 yesterday). The positive current – the subjects who have the virus – turn out to be in everything 105.083, equal to -1.476 compared to yesterday (-2.954 the day before).

The swabs and the scenario

I total swabs (molecular and antigenic) were 321.554, or 28,682 more than yesterday when it was 292,872. While the positive rate unchanged at 1.3
% (the approximation of 1.26%); like yesterday when it was 1.3%. Here is the map of the contagion in Italy.

More infections in 24 hours than yesterday. The curve follows its usual ups and downs, peaking in the middle of the week and then moving downwards at the weekend. But the always downward trend slowly (so from the beginning of the month) and you can see it from the comparison with last Thursday (16 September) – the same day of the week – when they were recorded +5,117 almost with a positive rate of 1.7%: in fact today there are fewer new people infected than that day, with a lower case-to-test ratio (1.3% versus 1.7%).

The improvement of the scenario, with a double-digit decline in infections, highlighted by the independent monitoring of the Gimbe Foundation on a weekly basis (15-21 September): -14.9% in new cases compared to the week before, -5.5% in hospitalizations and -6.9% in intensive care, while deaths stable.

Ten days after the reopening of the schools, there are no signs of a rise at the moment, underlines the physicist and scientific communicator Giorgio Sestili. early to draw conclusions, but the situation suggests cautious optimism.
