“To solve the problems of mobility in Rome, we must not focus on new subways but on trams, which have been the fortune of the capital in the past”, says Alessandro Bianchi, 76, a regular urban planner, former minister with Prodi, a former communist, and today the leaders of Roma Ecologista, one of the lists in support of Raggi. The former minister, in an interview with Giuseppe Di Piazza, says that it was Alfonso Pecoraro Scanio who convinced him to take the field. «I studied the activity of the Rays administration a bit – he adds – and I really liked two things: the first, which started the consolidation of the Rome budget; the second, which removed the business committees from the Capitol ”. What do you imagine for the post vote? «If Raggi wins – replies Bianchi – for me we are talking about a councilorship. I would be fine with the one at Urban Planning and the Historic Center ». On what he does not like about this Rome of today, the former minister is very clear: «The waste, the traffic, the scarce care of the architectural and cultural heritage. On mobility I have already said about the trams, but what matters most is to remove many vehicles from the road since the Romans have double if not triple the vehicles that Parisians or Londoners have ». «On waste – concludes Bianchi – if re-elected, Raggi should simply apply the 2014 resolution which indicates how to treat them. A plan that has already been approved by the economist Rifkin ”.
