Today we want to ask a direct question, which alone actually exhausts the talk about it: vi interest plus i video games of the platforms / shops on which are they published? Let us try to explain, because said so it seems a provocation, instead it is sincere curiosity.

Often the online discussions focus more on the platforms / stores on which a game will be released than on the quality of the same. Does game X only come out on platform Y or only in store Z? So those who do not own the Y platform or do not appreciate the Z shop will do everything to prove that it is crap, that it is overrated and that surely if it has got good grades it is the fault of bribes or various gifts from the publisher. Conversely, those who own the platform will incense it to the point of reaching religious ecstasy when they talk about it.

Mind you: this is not a behavior that concerns the owners of a single platform or the customers of a particular store, but it is general and can be seen by all factions (after all, it was already so at the time of the war between Commodore 64 and ZX Spectrum, so imagine). Of course there are also people who transcend these attitudes and limit themselves to playing what they can, enjoying their choices without continually oppressing those who have made different choices (for reasons of time, personal, economic or whatever you want). Unfortunately the public debate on video games seems increasingly focused on platforms / shops, often leading to forget that the important thing should be the works themselves and what they manage to convey to us, not the fact of having played them on one or the other machine, or having bought them in a certain store rather than another.

However, let’s say that someone manages to demonstrate the absolute superiority of one platform over the other or of a store over the other, what would change if others continued to use the worst alternatives? Would they subtract anything from your gaming experiences? But, above all, why is it so important to prove that your own is the right choice, while that of your neighbor is the wrong one?
