Gone are the days of the beginning of the vaccination campaign, when it was necessary to make the maximum effort to transport vaccines throughout Italy. Today, the mega-van, capable of carrying one million doses of the vaccine (pictured), goes into action.
In fact, the MUV MultiVaxVan, the new vehicle built by Iveco Defense Vehicles and GGG, which will support the vaccination campaign, was delivered this morning. The handover ceremony took place in the presence of the extraordinary commissioner for the Covid19 emergency, Francesco Paolo Figliuolo, and the Minister of Defense, Lorenzo Guerini, at the “Pio IX” Officers’ Club in Rome.
It is a vehicle developed for military use, which guarantees performance in terms of mobility, set up to bring vaccines throughout the national territory, even reaching the most difficult to reach villages. It is set up in such a way as to be able to transport 1 million doses at the same time, guaranteeing three different temperatures: -80 C, -20 C, 0 C. “It is a means – explained General Figliuolo – which will be used to continue that process of capillarization and go to the last mile “to complete the vaccination campaign.
