DURANGO (MEXICO) –In the Under 18 Women’s World Championship, currently taking place in Durango (Mexico), Marco Mencarelli’s blue team made their debut by beating Egypt 3-1 (22-25, 25-12, 25-10, 25-16).
The tricolor national team, included in pool B, suffered at the start of the match and the Egyptians imposed themselves (22-25) in the first set. After the excitement of the debut, Marco Mencarelli’s girls dominated the second fraction (25-12) and also the third (25-10). In the last set the opponents tried to offer more resistance, but Italy firmly commanded the game (25-16).
The Italian under 18 tomorrow (at 21 Italian time) will play against Turkey, a much more difficult opponent and one of the favorites in this World Cup.
