(ANSA) – MILAN, SEPTEMBER 20 – Since the end of August, more than 1,300 families have given their willingness to host women who fled Afghanistan for three months by joining the #un Bastaperunadonnaafghana campaign launched by the Il Melograno social cooperative in Segrate (Milan).
The funds collected, explained by the non-profit organization, come largely from Milan and the metropolitan area, from Lombardy but also from many other cities in Italy. Now the commitment is to find an outlet for all the hospitality offers, “in a network with other private social realities of the cooperative world (the initiative is already supported by LegaCoop, Confcooperative but also by the Italian Touring Club)”. As recommended by ANCI, availability “must be inserted – add by Melograno – in a professional path that is absolutely guaranteed and must pivot and remain firmly in connection with the projects of local authorities already started and which will be launched in the coming weeks , when it is likely that more people, women in particular, will decide to somehow escape from Afghanistan “.
