The route includes 42.195 kilometers that will cross the most beautiful and famous points of the capital: departure and arrival from the Colosseum and Imperial Forums, then Piazza Venezia, the Campidoglio staircase, Teatro Marcello, Bocca della Verità, Circus Maximus, Porta San Paolo, Piramide Cestia, Basilica of San Paolo, then again San Pietro, Foro Italico, Piazza Augusto Imperatore, Via Pacis, Piazza Navona, Piazza del Popolo and Piazza di Spagna.
The marathon runners at the start are 7500, of which 5300 Italians coming from all regions (1900 will be residents in Lazio) and 2200 will be coming from over 60 countries. All athletes must be in possession of the green certification.

For today’s race, traffic stops will progressively begin at 5.45 am and end around 2.30 pm. The route will involve via del Teatro Marcello, Circo Massimo, Piramide, via Ostiense, piazzale della Radio, Testaccio, Lungotevere, via della Conciliazione, the Prati, Della Vittoria, Panoli, Olympic Village, Flaminio districts. Crossing via del Corso the marathon runners will then return to the center towards the finish line of the Imperial Forums.
